Hi DeviantArt!

I haven't abandoned you completely, but if you'd like to see more of my in-progress work that I don't post to DA (which is, at this point, most of it), you can find me at my Tumblr:

shadradraws.tumblr.com/

You can expect to see my sketches, jewelry, and watercolor work there, though most of what I updated is in-progress work or sketches and such.

I will probably update DA with finished work eventually, but for now, my activity is on Tumblr.

See you there!

Happy New Year, Everybody! So much for keeping my DA account active!

But, then again, I haven't done much of any finished art in almost an entire year because of school. I've been doing plenty of sketches, but without having access to a scanner or photoshop, I haven't felt like uploading anything.

Both of those factors have changed, and hopefully soon I'll have some more finished work or nice sketches to offer.

Unfortunately, due to school, I don't know how active I'll be on DA this year either. I'd like to do more if I can, but my studies have to be my top priority!

I also won't be attending many, if any conventions as an AA participant. I will be at Nekocon as staff as usual, but until I have ample time to prepare for large weekend events like that, I'm afraid I won't be around!

I have a question, though, for DA folks who have used the print system-- How is it? I've had many requests over the years to open some of my work as prints available for purchase on DA, but since I sold them at my AA table frequently, I felt I should restrict my sales to that. However, since that time has passed (for now), I'm considering using the DA print service. Thoughts on the quality as a buyer and the experience as a seller is what I'm looking for, mostly.

I've just been so busy with school, and I didn't have a working scanner or photoshop (well I still don't have photoshop..) so even though I've done some art, I haven't had anything to upload. Hopefully that will change soon, though don't expect much color work.. just pencils!

While I was away at Dragon*Con this weekend, apparently my painting fav.me/d2qwkwm got a Daily Deviation! I was very confused to log in and find a kazillion messages. Thank you everybody for your comments, I read every one of them, and I intend to try to answer your questions soon!

In the same vein, last week I entered both 'Mildly Distressed' and another piece I have named 'Three Glances' (haven't uploaded it here yet) were accepted into a local juried art show, and 'Three Glances' won an award of excellence! I suppose I feel more relieved than excited-- I am trying very hard to improve my watercolors and art in general, so this is encouraging me to keep going. I feel like I'm on the right path!

I do intend to sell high quality reproduction prints of these watercolors online at some point, though I can't say when. It will probably be through an Etsy store, but I will definitely say here if/when it opens.

I'll be at AWA in two weeks with some prints as well, so I hope to see people there! I will be in Island Z, which is very close to the entrance of Artist's Alley (though I will be facing towards the back wall). I always wear an orange hat, so if you manage to catch me when I'm not running around trying to stay warm, please say hello!

And yes, I will be taking watercolor commissions there, but only a few :)

Have a great week, everybody!
